Great friends, that's how!
Through a lot of struggles this year, we aren't in a situation to take our sailboat (Kailani, a 26 foot Macgregor) to Lake Havasu this year.
Not wanting to miss the fun, and also as a stop off point to visit Ron's aunt in LA, we're taking the car, not the truck. We've made contacts already and have offers of at least three other Macs we can crew on. GREAT!
I went to pick up some stuff off our boat yesterday, and Kailani was so SAD. I could feel her saying "PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, TAKE ME WITH YOU. I want to be in warm weather, and clear water, and feel the wind in my sails and the water under my hull................. " But I cried, Kailani cried, and I departed the storage lot with some needed boating stuff, while she sat, forelorn, in her parking stall, under tarps, awaiting the cold and snow of winter.................
A pic of Kailani, from a happier time, HPCC 2012.
